Puppies Need Homes (September 6, 2010) The puppies were born in May 2010. There are both male and females. Please note that all applicants must agree to allowing us to check with your veterinarian regarding your experience taking care of a companion animal. Applicants must agree to a home visit. Please go to http://www.defendersofanimals.org for the adoption application form. Applicants have to have a pre-paid document for spaying/neutering from their veterinarian. Baby Needs a Special Human Companion (July 31, 2010) Meet Baby! Baby is 1 1/2 years old. Baby suffered a tragic accident when she was a kitten. She loves dogs and was accidentally stepped on. Her skull was broken and she lost her eye. baby's been with us for a very long time due to several surgeries that she had to undergo to save her. She is a very sweet girl and loves to love up on you. Baby does not like to be held as she doesn't feel safe, but she will sit in your lap. She gets along well with other cats as long as they are not rough Tom cats. She gets around great but does have a few limitations, which she works around. She needs help around stairs; she doesn't quite have the depth concept down yet. She drinks, eats and uses the litter box without a problem, but cannot use a litter box with a lid on it. She's a sweet very special girl! American Staffordshire Terrier [Mix] (July 29, 2010) Noah was found at a shelter's door step tied to a very short & dirty rope. Someone thought of him as just a throw away dog. He was afraid and is still adjusting to the shelter although we believe the shelter was much better than his past home life was. Noah seems to like other dogs and really warms up to you once he gets to know you. Noah would do best in a home that has dog experience. He's a dog that needs to build confidence.
