Coventry gas chamber protest: Defenders of Animals organized a protest against the use of the gas chamber at the Coventry Animal Shelter. The town has since agreed to have each animal examined by a veterinarian upon arrival, to make the shelter more accessible to the public, and to euthanize most animals by injection.
