Mission

The mission of the Elmwood Community Center is to advocate for solutions to problems which affect low and moderate income families. It also provides facilities and organizational sponsorship for community education and community cultural events for the residents of Elmwood and the city at large.

Profile

Over two thousand people a year come to the Elmwood Community Center for family crisis intervention services, senior community services, emergency food and clothes assistance, youth recreation and skill development, classes for those with limited English proficiency, job training and placement referrals, cultural programs and related events.

How You Can Help

Volunteers are encouraged to participate as tutors, assisting in the daily food distribution service, arts and crafts, assisting in recreation and athletic services, helping with toy distribution during the holiday season, interpreting for Hispanic, Cambodian, Laotian, Hmong, Vietnamese and Haitian clients.
