  • New Orleans Puppy Rescue
    One of the most amazing things to come out of the tragedy in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita is the tremendous support network that many of us established during our deployments to the Gulf Coast. Literally thousands of people put their lives on hold to do whatever they could to help the forgotten few—the animals of New Orleans. Defenders of Animals has jumped on board to handle the adoption process.

  • GREY2K USA
    Across the country, GREY2K USA is achieving victories for greyhound protection. From informing the media about greyhound abuse to defeating industry bills that would subsidize racing cruelty, we are hard at work to end dog racing.

  • The Amazing Adventures of Angel
    Angel's story is quite incredible- she spent 7 months living near an exit ramp on Route 6 in Providence. The fact that she is still with us is a miracle indeed. A number of wonderful souls took notice of her and began to look out for her, leaving food for her, learning her habits, and trying to enlist professional help to get her rescued. Finally, after much perseverance and with the help of a dedicated group called Defenders of Animals, she was rescued from the highway and brought to a very nice kennel in Exeter, RI, to await a new life.

    Attorney Mark Morse is a member of Defenders of Animals, Inc., and has successfully handled a number of cases on behalf of animals in Rhode Island.

  • Suede: Pop jazz blues diva
    "Voices like hers come along maybe once in a generation!" - New York Post. Suede is a member and supporter of Defenders of Animals.

  • Elmwood Community Center
    The Center has hosted meetings for animal rights groups, vegetarian groups, assisted with low-cost spaying/neutering, provided pet food, and taken issue with the Boy Scouts for promoting BB gun shooting for elementary school children, called for a boycott of Wal-Mart for placing guns next to their toy department, etc.

  • Shambala Tippi Hedren The Roar Foundation and Shambala Preserve
    In keeping with her outlook on the environment and conservation, many of Shambala's residents are cast-offs from private owners, zoos and circuses. "They're living out their lives in safety and comfort."
